There are many places in Prescott Arizona that claim to be haunted. Let’s take a look at some of these creepy and beautiful locations around town that claim to be haunted.
Haunted Hotels in Prescott
Hotel Vendome tops the list of haunted hotels in Prescott, Arizona. Hotel Vendome is celebrating it’s 100th birthday next month. According to the Hotels’ website it’s room 16 that spooks most folks. The Hotel was built in 1917 during the big mining boom. “Abby and Noble are our resident ghosts here at the Hotel Vendome, and are still believed to inhabit this room. This room has a cozy plush queen mattress, private bathroom with shower and quaint touches left as gifts for Abby and Noble. ”
The hotel lobby houses a small bar and patrons can enjoy a glass of wine on the hotels full surround front deck. “So although you have modern amenities such as private bathrooms, air conditioning and heat, you still see all of the charm of the craftsmen woodworking, iron radiators and a few of the vintage clawfoot tubs from the past.”
The Hassayampa Hotel is also thought to be haunted. Darlene from A Haunting Experience Tours tells us “The year it opened, its most famous legend was made. The story goes… a very young bride named Faith Summers checked into a balcony suite with her much older husband. Faith’s husband went out to buy cigarettes and never returned. Faith walked the halls and lobby waiting for his return. After three days Faith took her own life by hanging herself from the flag pole on her balcony outside her room…or so the story goes.”
We enjoy the Peacock Room occasionally for dinner and live music and cocktails in the hotel’s lounge area.
The Hotel St. Michael is also rumored to have a resident ghost. Directly on Whiskey Row, I’m sure if these walls could talk- there would be some crazy and spooky stories. Standing at the corner of historic Whiskey Row, this circa-1901 redbrick hotel is located Downtown, across from Courthouse Square. Stories have been shared about a haunted elevator and mysterious happenings in some of the guest rooms.
Haunted House in Prescott
The annual Haunted House opens soon at the Prescott Gateway Mall. We are not much into the spooky scary stuff but you can find ghosts and goblins there.
Another big haunted attraction in Prescott Arizona is the famous trick or treating experience on Mount Vernon street. Mount Vernon is a residential street lined with beautiful historic Victorian homes. On Halloween, these homes are decorated and transformed into a spooky night right out of an old classic haunted house ghost story. The streets are lined with children and adults in costume prepared to get their share of Halloween candy.
